– Our main role is to guide managers in HR issues in their daily work. For example, we get questions about what to do when recruiting a new employee, how to improve and maintain the work environment for the group and its existing employees, and what to consider in the event of business changes.
What is the best thing about your job?
– It is very important that managers have confidence in me and my colleagues. For me, it is a great driving force to be able to listen to their needs and the challenges they face and be able to come up with solutions tailored to them. The best thing for me is when I become the manager's natural extended arm through our dialogue and cooperation. The Faculty of Medicine's two representatives to the transition network have been replaced and I am one of the new ones. It will be fun to immerse myself in these issues that are so important for taking care of our employees and retaining our expertise at LU.
What else do you have going on in HR?
– At this time of year, we check that all holidays for the staff have been registered as they should and we start preparing all recruitments for the autumn.
– A few years ago, I started up an HR network for HR partners and HR administrators at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences as an open and unconditional forum to exchange advice and experiences. After the summer, when all of the departmental offices in Lund have moved our offices closer together and we have got our newly recruited HR partners in place, we hope to be able to resume these network meetings physically after the digital age that the pandemic brought. My hope is to unite and facilitate the working methods at all the faculty's department offices so that none of us have to reinvent the wheel when we are faced with new kinds of issues and challenges. And of course have a coffee with good colleagues!
