Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation logotype

The Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation (KAW) encourages more women to apply for project grants for research projects with high scientific potential. Apply by September 18th.

At least 40 percent of all granted projects should be awarded to women.

The Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation aims for at least 40 percent of all granted projects to be awarded to women.

The foundation has expressed dissatisfaction with the universities' inability to nominate more projects led by women. If the institutions nominate fewer women, fewer projects will be granted.

Lund University can submit a total of 15 applications.

Research projects with high scientific potential

The Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation supports researcher-initiated projects of the highest international standard, preferably grants within the fields of natural sciences, technology, and medicine.

The projects should generally have a fundamental scientific nature and be focused on a coherent scientific question. The foundation prioritizes projects within new research areas, especially those with a cross-disciplinary nature where Swedish researchers take an international leading position.

The standard projects should have a budget of between 15 to 40 million SEK, with a duration of three to five years. An individual researcher can only participate in two ongoing projects, of which a maximum of one as the principal applicant. Funds can only be sought for equipment if it is essential for the project's implementation.

If you wish to apply

In the foundation's management procedure, you can read about requirements and guidelines for the application.
