Irah King is an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at McGill University. He holds a Canada Research Chair in Barrier Immunity from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and his laboratory is located within the Meakins-Christie Laboratories at the McGill University Health Centre – Research Institute (MUHC-RI).

Dr. King's research focuses on understanding the factors that contribute to a healthy gut, with an emphasis on how immune cells communicate with their environment to promote protective immune responses. Using animal models of infectious diseases and intestinal organoid-based approaches, his work explores how helminth infections and the gut microbiota shape intestinal immunity and host defense mechanisms.
