Gender equality: We welcome two Visiting Professors at Health Sciences

To stimulate the University's work for gender equality and equal conditions, we welcome two Visiting Professors of underrepresented gender to IHV, Department of Health Sciences: Torbjörn Falkmer and Ulrik Röijezon.

The Department of Health Sciences has been awarded university-wide funds for the employment of Visiting Professors of underrepresented sex for the period 2023-2024. For Torbjörn and Ulrik, it is their second time as Visiting Professors at the department.

Torbjörn Falkmer is Professor of Occupational Therapy and Professor Emeritus at Curtin University in Perth. He is once again looking forward to teaching and research at the Faculty of Medicine.

– It is a privilege and at the same time very enjoyable to once again be part of Lund's Faculty of Medicine. I look forward to being part of teaching and research, meeting students and colleagues and of course seeing the beautiful city of Lund again, says Torbjörn.

Ulrik Röijezon is Professor of Physiotherapy at Luleå University of Technology. For Ulrik, who obtained his physiotherapy degree at Lund University in 1996, it is a fond reunion to continue as visiting professor.

– I am very happy and proud to continue to be trusted as visiting professor in physiotherapy at Lund University. During my first year as visiting professor, we initiated a number of research projects regarding balance in the elderly, and movement control in the case of hand injuries. I look forward to developing these projects in future studies. In addition, it is always stimulating to meet students, partly in undergraduate education and partly doctoral students where I taught movement analysis in the movement laboratory. I look forward to new projects, collaborations and challenges, says Ulrik.
