How to make your biobank application

Blodprover i provrör.

Region Skåne's biobank is part of Biobank Sweden. On July 1 2023, the new biobank law came into force, and in connection with this, the procedures for how you apply to gain access to the biobank's samples were updated.

If you plan to use biobank samples for your research project where Lund University is the research principal, a biobank agreement with Region Skåne's biobank is required. A biobank agreement between Region Skåne's biobank and Lund University counts as a cooperation agreement. The biobank agreement only comes into force after your biobank application has been submitted, approved and all parties have signed.

Who signs my application?

Your application with the correct form must be signed by an authorized representative of the principal investigator (Lund University). In the case of collaboration agreements, the delegation order applies to sign on behalf of Lund University.

Company signatory according to the delegation order

For cooperation agreements of less than 5 million SEK, the head of department is the signatory, and the person who signs your application. The head of department must also approve your application if you make it within the framework of the institution's activities, regardless of whether the head of department is a formal signatory or not.

Keep in mind: The value of each individual application should be less than 5 million SEK.
