The other day, Vice-Chancellors from several Swedish universities were at a Vice-Chancellors' conference in Lund and took the opportunity to go on an outing in the neighbourhood.
The group visited, among other things, the Faculty of Medicine's new infrastructure, The Movement and Reality Lab (MoRe-Lab), which is designed as a hub for collaborations between university faculties, municipalities, healthcare networks, sports clubs and industry.
The group was guided around by the researchers at the lab and Director Daniel Benoit talked about the infrastructure that is designed as a home environment platform (Reality platform) with state-of-the-art analysis platforms for human movements (Movement platform), which enables the study of the interaction between physical function, behavior, cognition, and activity in different standardized or real environments.
"Colleagues from all over Sweden were impressed by how human needs permeate MoRE-Lab's activities and saw great opportunities for new collaborations. Showcasing the innovative and interdisciplinary collaboration that characterises MoRE-Lab (as well as the Humanities Laboratory, which we visited the next day) showed that Lund University is an important force shaping our future," said Lund University's Vice-Chancellor Erik Renström.
The group consisted of Hans Adolfsson, Vice-Chancellor, Umeå University, Muriel Beser Hugosson, Vice-Chancellor, University of Skövde, Sanne Kofod Olsen, Vice-Chancellor, The Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Martin Hellström, Vice-Chancellor, Mälardalen University, Mats Viberg, Vice-Chancellor, Blekinge Institute of Technology, Peter Aronsson, Vice-Chancellor, Linnaeus University, Erik Renström, Vice-Chancellor, Lund University and Lars Alberius, Linda Gerén and Christopher Sönnerbrandt from the Office of the Association of Swedish Higher Education Institutions (SUHF).
