NVivo Introductory Course – learn how to use NVivo for different research methods

NVivo makes your research process easier by helping you to organise and sort your rich text data. You will learn about NVivo's structure, basic features, and the terminology used in the software. The course is designed for complete beginners as well as those who have used previous versions of the software.

Course description

The course is divided into two half-day sessions. The first session will focus on the basic tools and functionality for starting a new research project and managing your data. The second session will introduce you to more advanced features for data analysis.

We will also look at a variety of tools that facilitate the iterative process of coding data from transcribed individual interviews and focus groups.


Prior knowledge and installation requirements

  • The course does not require any previous knowledge of NVivo or similar tools.
  • You will need to have NVivo installed to take the course.
  • The course is taught on Windows/PC, but Mac users are also welcome.
