Andreas Vilhelmsson is a public health scientist and has recently published the book "Climate medicine – on climate change, extreme weather and health"(in Swedish).

Andreas Vilhelmsson is one of Lund University's contact persons in the network, whose goal is to educate the next generation of doctors about the health effects of climate change and about sustainable healthcare.

According to Andreas Vilhelmsson, there is currently an increasing interest from students and universities with medical faculties for sustainability to be included in the curricula of medical degrees.

"But despite the fact that there is a significant willingness among universities to educate students in these subjects, there is a lack of forums and channels for sharing experiences and materials. Joining ENCHE as a founder gives Lund University, and specifically the Faculty of Medicine, a unique opportunity to shape, design and access empirically tested evidence-based educational material on climate and health.”

He believes that the network also provides the faculty with a unique platform for discussions and exchange of experiences between European medical education programmes, and how both teachers and students identify needs and understand different educational materials.

"Joining as a founder can strengthen our own education and gives us an opportunity to create common learning areas.”
