Proposals for Honorary Doctors of Medicine must be received by the Faculty Office no later than Friday November 1, 2024.
The Faculty hereby wants to encourage the submission of proposals for Honorary Doctors for 2025.
For a more even gender distribution, the Faculty would like to see both women and men proposed. The proposers will be invited to present their proposals at the Faculty board meeting onNovember 13, when Honorary Doctors for 2025 will be appointed.
Please note that proposals for Honorary Doctors are confidential until the Faculty board has made a decision and the person concerned has been informed.
An Honorary Doctorate is an honorary title awarded by a faculty at a university to a person who in various ways has contributed significantly to scientific activities.
It can be an international contact that has already meant a lot to the business, that you want to tie even closer. It may be a researcher in another field that the faculty wants to reward through an interdisciplinary recognition. It can also be a person who is not scientifically active himself, but who in various ways has made a decisive contribution to the faculty's research and education.
It is the Faculty's board that ultimately appoints this year's Honorary Doctors, usually two to three people. The title of Honorary Doctor is awarded at the University's conferment ceremony.

Proposals for Honorary Doctors of Medicine to be conferred on Friday May 23 2025 must be received by the Faculty Office on Friday November 1, 2024.
