European Research Council Starting Grants are open to researchers 2–7 years after their PhD, and provide up to €1,5 million for up to 5 years. The next call is the StG 2026 call, with preliminary deadline in October 2025.

LU Research Services provides support to all researchers at Lund University interested in this scheme. Our upcoming events are:

  • ERC Starting Grants workshop: Open to researchers who are planning to apply for an ERC Starting Grant (StG) with Lund University as their host institution. The workshop will be held in English.
    Date: 26 May 2023, 09:00 – 16:00.
Venue: Auditorium, ‘Inspira’ building, Medicon Village, Lund

  • Extra session and training camp for ERC Starting Grants: In addition to the ERC workshop on 26 May, Research Services will arrange two connected events with the aim of giving ERC StG applicants an extra boost in the 2026 call. You are welcome to register for these activities if you are planning to apply for an ERC Starting Grant in the 2026 call.
Dates: 10 June (kick-start your proposal writing, and receive feedback on your CV/Track Record) and 19-20 August (two-day training camp).

Registration for all Starting Grant events by 16 May 2025.
